Theatre performance based on the true story from the region of Cracow during the times of War World II
The performance is based on the true stories of local heroes of Lesser Poland from the interwar period, WWII as well as right after the war, connected in some way with Cracow. The story of Lemko boy and the Jewish girl, two people bound by emotion and separated by war and religion. The couple almost like Romeo and Juliet. The story of a Polish priest condemned by a criminal charge. The intersection of three nationalities: Polish, Jewish, and Lemkos (the most famous Lemko person was Andy Warhol) as well as three religions and cultures against the backdrop of the atrocities of war. Rena and Andrzej try to understand why their love couldn’t be fulfilled. Father Gurgacz quarrels with his own conscience, torn between duty and needs of the heart. Three people experiencing love that meets with tragic circumstances. „Love is a flame, and a flame must burn something.” The performance will include live music.
